The most recent transaction at 720 Park ave, which involves a $22 million Prewar beauty and a Los Angeles sweatshirt bedazzler, reminds us that the Universe operates in cruel and unusual ways. We just don't see how designing sweatshirts for the likes of Paris Hilton warrants - or pays for - ownership in one of the most famed Park Ave buildings. Granted, the new owner, Jamie Tisch, is also a well-to-do philanthropist with some serious roots in New York. But c'mon on, what are we missing? And why aren't we in the glittery sweatshirt business?
Oh, here's what we're missing: Ms. Tisch also happens to be the ex-wife to film producer and Giants co-owner Steve Tisch. And with that, order has returned to the world. That is, until Jamie bedazzles the hell out of those mantels.
