LPC Extends UES Historic District

The Friends of the UES proudly reports the LPC finally agreed to extend the UES Historic District, which marks its first expansion since its creation in 1981. The move will now protect 75 historic buildings, most of which fall along Lexington Ave in the mid-70s (with the rest about 10 blocks down). No word yet on how the vulnerable buildings of Lex plan to celebrate. Probably with another Duane Reade.
